The Fairlands Junction is the introduction to the Fantasy Faire, an area for special events like the auctions and where each land can be reached through special teleports. It's also where the lights of our memories flicker and float, reminding us all of those we have lost and those we hope to save. This year it is a lovely maze of pale stone riddled with opaline gemstones. Graceful staircases frame chessboard floors made of a mix of that self-same stone and mossy grasses dotted with the memory of flowers. More blossoms bloom along notched edges and creep stealthily over sweet statuary and marble edges, and here and there ionic columns rise with deep greens and blues curling along the cornices and carved into the whorls of scrolls.
The travel-able path is clear enough, mirrored halves forming a scroll-like pattern around the memory pool at the heart of the Fairlands Junction. The untravel-able part is is studded with stones and clumps of craggy chaparral crawling up to dance along the top edges of the paths and to creep over the trellises shading each of the narrow passages between larger, open gardens. The sim builder's store, Balderdash (Fairelands Junction ), and the sim sponsor's store, Roawenwood (Fairelands Junction), are off to each side tucked in among the stones and offering up lovely echoes of the sim which surrounds you. The Auction House is also here, hidden off to one side and ready for frenetic bidding for unique items. The Silent Auction goes on for about a week offering up unique items, enormous fatpacks, and one of a kind deals. In addition, at the end of the faire is a live auction where often entire sim designs are auctioned off to the highest bidder and for a good cause. The Bard Queen stands off in one of the open gardens nearby, offering up hints to the Quest centering around Malfience which gives us all an opportunity to battle the Unraveller more directly and bring peace back to one part of the Fairelands.
I'm still wearing a fantastic skin and tattoo from .:Soul:. (Blackmoor), though the rest of my outfit is decidedly unFaire. I love the speckles and sparkles of this faire donation item, one of three options for donation (and a dozen more which are a new release and on sale for the duration of the Faire). His skins come with a million and a half appliers, all neatly tucked into HUDs - Body Appliers include SLink, Maitreya, Belleza, and Omega with a separate TMP set, and Face Appliers include Genesis, Lelutka, Catwa, Omega, BentBox, and the Uni Ears also with a separate TMP set. The tattoo layer and a faded layer are also included, and the faded layer can be used to make unique tints and shades if you so desire. I'm sticking with the original in all it's rainbow glory, though, and I'm sure you can see why!
